Best sunscreen to prevent tanning?
I like having pale skin but my arms/shoulders and parts of my back tan really easily and the rest of me doesn't tan at all.

So I'm trying to prevent those areas from darkening so anyone know good products to prevent tanning??

**obviously I wear sunscreen I just wanted to know if there was a product that would some how work better as far as preventing a tan

**I have sensitive skin and try to use kids sunscreen or sunscreens with only titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.

Help would be greatly appreciated! :}

I have sensitive skin, too and i'm also stuck using psychical sunscreens or mineral sunscreens. (Which is what the zinc/titanium ones are called.)

They don't really prevent tanning fully, they just block out the harmful uv rays that can cause damage. It does help a lot though.. A favorite of mine is Vanicream SPF 60--my aunt's hospital uses it--but it's a terrible PAIN to find. I ordered some from Amazon and the stupid company cancelled my order.

But anyway. At the moment I went out and got some sort of Banana Boat Baby one, huge tube, $7. It's for sensitive skin and it's a mineral sunblock. I'm not sure if I like it too much though, but you get a lot for your money and I may just use that for my body instead of my face. (I'm mostly concerned with my face.)

Yes to Cucumbers has one I eyed very hard before getting the Banana Boat.

Anyway--there's not much you can do to prevent tanning but avoid the sun. Even sunblock can only do so much. Sunblock just blocks out the harmful UV rays--you'll still probably tan gradually. Most sunscreens have directions on how often you need to reapply, pay attention to that and reapply as often as they say to if you're out in the sun a lot.

Another awesome option is getting a wide brim hat. It'll help your face and may block out a lot on you shoulders, too. Not exactly the most fashionable choice haha but it's not a bad thing.
